As the series unfolds, Alex is revealed to be an ordinary man whose life was changed with the murder of his wife seven years ago. Since then, Alex has devoted his life to finding the person responsible and exacting revenge.

His investigation leads him to Kong Holdings which Alex infiltrates to unravel the truth. But his plans fall awry when he falls in love with Li-Ann, Kong Wah's stepdaughter. He is further conflicted by his desire to re-connect with his family but knows that doing so may place their lives in danger and jeopardise his plot for revenge.
